A special thank you to the following foundations for their grant awards – $50,00 from The Harvey Najim Family Foundation, $7,500 from to the State Farm Foundation and $5,000 from the Mays Family Foundation. These gifts allow San Antonio Youth Literacy the opportunity to continue to deliver its SAYL Reading Buddy Program to those children struggling to read on grade level, thereby providing each participant with guided reading practice with a caring adult, encouraging them to foster an enjoyment of reading, and enhance their motivation and self-esteem through the experience of reading.
