“Each day I am thankful for the nights that turned into mornings, friends that turned into family, dreams that turned into reality and likes that turned into love.” –Author Unknown
Here at SAYL, we have many things to be thankful for this coming Thanksgiving Day. We are thankful first and foremost for the children with whom we are fortunate enough to share our lives. We are thankful for our Reading Buddies who bring hope and caring to our children. We are, of course, thankful for the incredible teachers and staff of our partner schools and districts for the collegiality and collaboration they provide. We are thankful for the privilege, great fortune and sense of fulfillment we get to experience every day of the school year just being a part of the solution of helping children realize their potential.
And of course, all of this would not be possible without the support of many wonderful individuals, foundations and corporations willing to share their treasures, time and talents to make San Antonio Youth Literacy the organization it is. Their belief in our efforts provides us with the validation to continue our work.
Let us all enjoy our season of Thanksgiving, being thankful for mornings after night, friends like family, reality out of dreams and love all around.
