Virtual Luncheon: A Conversation w/ former City Manager Sheryl Sculley

Join us for a revealing conversation between former City Manager Sheryl Sculley and Jenna Saucedo-Herrera about Sheryl’s new book, Greedy Bastards: One City’s Texas Size Struggle to Avoid a Financial Crisis. Sheryl divulges her uphill battles to improve San Antonio city government including challenging the powerful public safety unions and steering the city from financial ruin. She takes you behind closed doors to share the hard changes she made and the strategies she used to create mutually beneficial solutions to the city’s biggest problems. Virtual Luncheon streamed via Zoom live from the beautiful Library at Hotel Emma.

An award-winning city manager, Sheryl Sculley served the city of San Antonio from 2005-2019. During her tenure, she recruited top talent, vastly improved the city’s financial management, led the development of the three largest bond programs in city history totaling $2 billion in infrastructure improvements and much more. Having worked in city management in three cities and states over 45 years, Sheryl retired from public service last year. She has also been a volunteer reading tutor in SAYL’s Reading Buddy program.
